about
Some of the words I have strung together and posted on this page are stories and thoughts about my own personal experiences. Other things are merely the end result of the opinions and beliefs I have formed over years of reading news and looking at social media online.
At some point in history a decision was made to have an algorithm decide what I see and what I don't see in the information I consume. I suppose if you find some of the things you read here disagreeable in any way; it could mean that the algorithm has decided to feed you things that oppose what the algorithm decided to feed me.
If some, or all, of these things that I posted (that are not from my own personal experiences) are untruthful, then I guess the algorithm has force fed me lies, and I've posted fictional things.
On the other hand, if any of the things are actually even remotely true, then I guess we're all doomed anyway. In that case then; I might as well post it. Similar to when the band kept playing on the Titanic until it snapped in half and sank to the bottom of the ocean.
I discovered Write.as, and made the switch to it, not long after I had gone through the process of setting up my site elsewhere. Found myself wishing I had discovered this first. I spent hours and hours using the editing features on those other sites to make my page look quite similar to what the default of Write.as is.
I feel like they have deliberately made the editing features nearly impossible to use so users are forced into using A.I.. Like I probably could have made the others look exactly how I wanted to within minutes if I had clicked on the A.I. button.
I just couldn't make myself do it.
I won't use it for creating my posts for me, and I won't use it for site construction. Using it to do those things felt to me like giving up. Also, I picture the data centers heating up the air for miles around them, using up all the water, and making my electric bill higher. So it not only feels like giving up, it also feels like supporting a thing that is inevitably bad for us.
Who am I? I’m a long term blue collar worker who has been alive for 50+ years. I type things.
